Alive At Five is Albany’s premiere summer concert series. Every Thursday evening in the summer, distinguished national, regional and local artists bring their best performances to Albany for this popular event.
Alive At Five draws an enthusiastic and energetic crowd to the Corning Preserve at Jennings Landing (formerly known as Albany Riverfront Park) for dancing, food, refreshments, and entertainment. This year is the 25th Anniversary of Alive at Five!
And since a summer party isn’t complete without ice-cold beer, lemonade, and a great BBQ, local vendors are always on hand supplying plenty of food and drink.
Join us in the fun and music of this wonderful series that is a signature event and a summer staple in the Capital City of Albany, New York. It’s free!
Conehead Buddha: 5:00pm
Conehead Buddha is not your average jam band. For better or worse, even after their sixth album (released summer 2012) the long-running Capital Region band’s sound still remains indefinable. Each song has a little something for everyone, be it rock, ska, salsa, or funk sprinkled with subtle elements of jazz. Media sponsor: JAMZ 96.3
Sheila E.: 6:30pm
Sheila E. is a Grammy-nominated, world-class drummer, percussionist and solo artist whose credits read like chapters in a music history book: she was a driving force behind Prince’s classic Purple Rain, and she’s collaborated with Ringo Starr, Marvin Gaye, Beyoncé, Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Gloria Estefan and George Duke.
